5 Times BTS Were Savages And Decided To Throw Some Shade

167

Famous as idols with golden personality and politeness, BTS rarely has harsh replies to antifans or malicious comments about them. BTS uses the law and their success to answer false rumors and ridicule to shame haters themselves. Despite this, there are also moments when BTS members throw shade before antifans and haters that make ARMY extremely gloating. Here are 5 moments when the BTS members went wild:

BTS debuted in 2013 from a little-known small group and the company has a debt of hundreds of billions. That’s why from the beginning BTS has suffered a lot of scorn and contempt. Not only that, following the concept “confronting all stereotypes about youth” also makes BTS struggle on the road to success. Even so, after 8 years of debut, BTS is now one of the most successful artists of all time, becoming K-Pop superstars and even the Special Envoys of the President.

But even when they are famous, they still have to face a lot of jealousy and malice from haters and antifans or have to be more careful in their statements. Thanks to the bravery and ingenuity of the members, BTS had many moments to show off their ability to diss antifan as well as overcome controversial interview questions in an interesting way. It is these reproaches of the BTS members that they receive great support from fans for not hesitate to talk about those malice in a very gloating way. The following are the “savage” times of the 7 boys that have made many fans admire:

1.       Suga shows his silent way before BTS haters who said they are lip-sync singers

In 2017, malicious rumors appeared in all year-end stages that BTS participated in about their use of lip-syncing in shows. BTS’ Suga was aware of these malicious comments accusing BTS of lip syncing and decided to respond to them during the 2017 SBS Gayo Daejun.

BTS performed one of their most grumpy songs for haters, “Mic Drop,” with a live orchestra playing behind them. During that performance, Suga stopped rapping midway through and stared at the camera with a small smirk as the song continued without his voice. Interestingly, he did it twice and showed that BTS is completely singing live with powerful dance moves on live music, not lip-syncing as the haters speculate.

To this day, whenever there are malicious comments about BTS, ARMY still use gifs related to Suga’s performance

2. Jin throws shade at music chart manipulators

Besides Suga, Jin is also one of the members who has a straightforward personality and is not afraid to face haters. In 2019 when many accusations related to cheating on music charts were made against many K-pop artists and BTS was also among those accused by antifans. Although ARMYs have given a lot of real evidence, the haters still do not stop every time BTS takes 1st place on the charts

Not to let ARMY and BTS suffer, when BTS won the “Song of the Year” award at MAMA 2019, Jin decided to talk about this issue in their acceptance speech in a very gentle way but very serious way.

He said: “I really want us to live in a world where all of those songs are heard and get the recognition they deserve. I know there are some negative ways to do this, but music should be done in an honest way. I look forward to living in a world where music is produced in good faith and heard in good faith.”

3.Suga throws shade at the Billboard interviewers

While BTS members are always respectful when giving interviews, there are many questions that are repeated and sometimes become awkward situations for the artists. Therefore, as a way to remind reporters to pay attention to not create embarrassing situations, Suga threw shade on Billboard. During a BTS live broadcast, Suga decided to joke around a bit. When the members were silent for a few seconds, Suga joked and asked them, “Who do you want to collaborate with?”

This is a question that BTS is always asked in interviews when appearing at events abroad. Because at that time, BTS had a certain reputation, so every question related to other artists must be careful or BTS will be scrutinized. Even RM was hard to answer this question and told Suga to be careful when answering the Billboard reporter’s question. That day, Suga made the very smart choice that he wanted to collaborate with BTS.

Returning to BTS’s livestream, J-Hope immediately answered the question and asked Suga if they were interviewing with Billboard. The other members also laughed at Suga’s throw shade. And surely the reporters who watched BTS’ broadcast that day would be less likely to mention such questions later.

4. BTS’s rap line disses B-Free

Before Suga and RM debuted in BTS, they were active as underground rappers. This makes some people in the underground world felt uncomfortable and mocked them including rapper B-Free. He even blamed RM and Suga as idols because he doesn’t see idols as rappers: “You guys (Suga and RM) could have taken the road towards becoming rappers, but you couldn’t beat that temptation. Is BTS’s music hip hop? Is wearing makeup on stage like a girl hip-hop?”

Soon after B-Free’s comments were broadcast, he faced backlash for his comments, as he not only disrespected RM and Suga, but all the rappers in idol world. Later when BTS became famous and Suga and RM became rappers with millions of fans, they wrote a rap song as a direct response to B-Free without reservation: “Overspending on my pens that are more in number than your (B-Free) fans, if I go all in and shoot, it’s a goal in. Goal in, I’m ballin, when I hear your rap, I’m about to throw up”

Perhaps B-Free must have heard these words too and indeed BTS idols are not rappers but they are K-pop superstars, the youngest artist to receive the Oder of Merit Culture award – who spreads music, rap and ̾k̾o̾r̾e̾an culture to the outside world.

5. BTS disses Big Hit Music

Although BTS has a great relationship with Big Hit Music and is satisfied with what the company has done. However, there are also some Big Hit regulations that BTS is not satisfied with and as an artist, BTS decided to show their “savage” through songs. BTS once released a song called “A African Trainee’s Christmas” in which they talked about the company not allowing them to date and forcing them to practice over Christmas.

RM wrote in the song: “I have no girlfriend because our debut is soon. Ha, idols are getting married yet we separate male and female trainees? What’s the point? We can’t love so how do we write love songs? If it were up to me, I’d encourage dating”.

And Suga added: “Our boss is indifferent, even three years ago. We’ve never had the dinner outing that everybody else has. Outside, it’s like a party but us guys are bunched up together like it’s the army. This year, I’ll either be practicing or sitting alone in a corner. Nothing changes no matter how hard I try, I’m solo. But boss, we don’t want a solo victory. We just want a dinner outing!”

Even BTS sometimes wants to break the rules!
